THE CONTEXT AWS is dedicated to investing in the communities where its data centers are located by supporting local jobs, driving economic growth, and creating opportunities for local businesses and suppliers. During the 2024 holiday season, AWS sponsored and helped create a holiday market as part of the existing Christmas in New Carlisle celebration in New Carlisle, Indiana. This event brought the community together to celebrate, while providing local vendors a platform to showcase their products. By seamlessly integrating into the festivities, AWS enriched the local culture, fostered meaningful connections, and emphasized its commitment to hyperlocal support and community collaboration.

THE OUTCOME The Christmas in New Carlisle holiday market, inspired by the Gingerbread Jam theme, brought the magic of a life-sized gingerbread village to the community. Hosted alongside the town’s seasonal celebrations, the event welcomed over 500 attendees and featured a lively band that filled the air with festive music. The AWS tent, designed as a charming gingerbread house, served as the heart of the event, offering interactive activations, games, and outreach opportunities. Smaller AWS stalls engaged visitors with hands-on holiday crafts and local vendor collaborations. The event made a meaningful impact by supporting local businesses and organizations, distributing 500 cookies and 200 hot chocolates, capturing 242 photobooth moments, and planting 500 trees as part of AWS’s community-driven initiatives.
